The September 2013 release of Grand Theft Auto V flaunted the ‘biggest, most dynamic, most diverse open (GTA) world created’. With its players able to jump in and out of the characters’ lives in its complex storytelling gameplay. It continued GTA’s darkly humorous take on modern day culture and continued the classic hallmarks of the revolutionary GTA series.

It has now sold almost 135 million units, setting a new GTA record. The game’s sales outperformed forecasts, setting a 155% Rockstar record. Unsurprisingly, due to its success Rockstar has announced that GTA V will be coming to the next-gen consoles in the later part of 2021. This will mean that the Xbox Series X will be the third generation of consoles for GTA V.

The next-gen version of GTA V will be “expanded and enhanced with new features and content” and boasting “technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements”. This sounds very exciting for GTA V fans and definitely something to look forward to.

If you have any old consoles you may be wondering if it might be valuable. Some vintage consoles are collectable and carry large price tags but which ones are worth selling?

Sega master console system
These were released in the late 80s and can fetch up to £350 in the right market and if you have all of the accessories such as control pads, light gun controller, and 3D glasses.

Sega mega drive
Sega’s mega drive was released in the 90s and put Sega on the map. These consoles could sell for £75 depending on the condition.

PlayStation 1
This console surprisingly doesn’t hold a very high value but you could still sell for £40 or more if you have sought after games to go with it.

Nintendo 64
The Nintendo 64 is still quite a sought-after console with some fans wanting to go back to simple. You could get as much as £150 for just the console to the right buyer.

A brand-new paper Mario game is being released this summer! Paper Mario: The Origami King will be released on July 17th 2020 on Nintendo switch. So, what will this game bring us?

The devious King Olly has turned Princess Peach into origami, taken her castle and sealed it shut with paper streamers.
This game is a fun-packed adventure style game in a papercraft world. Our heroes Mario and Luigi will be accompanied by a new companion called Olivia. Together they will face the Origami King and his cohorts. There will be magical powers from Metroid helmets to stretchy limbs.

You will journey across land, mountains, deserts and seas in attempt to save the princess and take down the king and his magical streamers. You will come across several wacky characters and mini games along the way. Only a few more weeks to go until this fun adventure quest game will be released on Nintendo Switch.

Our experience of this game has been mostly positive and it remains a great game with awesome graphics and an exciting storyline.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a choice game and there are decisions to be made. These decisions will influence your character and the world around you but some of the biggest decisions are already made for you before you begin leaving you to deal with the fallout. Till the end, you will fight missions and moral dilemmas.

You are put in charge of the camp’s finances, meaning you pick out all the supplies and upgrades. With that power, you’re encouraged to do as you see fit and at your own pace. You will spend your time hunting, fishing, horse-rearing, and involved in robberies.

We think this game has an incredibly engaging storyline and will keep you gripped for hours. It will be up to you to keep your player in good health and whether you want to be the good or the bad guy.

There are so many different types and brands out there so we always recommend you do your research before purchasing, some of the more basic ones are on par with an office chair at an elevated price.

The game Borderlands, now in its third version, will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary on the 20th October. This means that there will be events running throughout the months of October and November, giving gamers special features to enjoy. Hints will be given in the lead up to each event, but full details will only be revealed on the week!

To give you an idea of what is coming up, there will be a bonus boss loot, a rare spawn hunt, and a spooky surprise, to name just a few things. The event will begin with a boss week, where it will be easier to get a boss loot.

These events will also most likely tie in with Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest, which is coming up ahead of Halloween later this month. Players are in for an interesting ride as we discover what tricks we can look forward to with the game.

World War Z is a game by Saber Interactive, published by Focus Home Interactive. It is available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as of April 2019, in various locations. But who is this new bestselling video game going to appeal to?

• People who already know the book. This video game is based on a book called World War Z, published in 2006. It is centred on zombie apocalypse survivors as in the book, so fans of the story might well be intrigued.
• People who look shooter games. This is in the third person shooter genre.
• Those who like collaborative gameplay. There is the option to have four players, with five multiplayer modes. Players are tasked with battling zombies in four locations across the world.
• Players who like progress. You will be able to unlock new modes and different benefits as you work your way through the game and its classes.

There are lots of new Xbox games coming up in the new year – plenty to keep any Xbox fan excited. Some haven’t even been announced yet, so it will be interesting to see what the New Year will hold for everybody interested in games and gaming. Here are some games that have been announced and that will be released soon:

• Resident Evil 2. This survival horror genre game is a remake with a difference – mostly a visual difference, as you can see what new graphical technology has done for the quality. It will be released in January, for Xbox One, PC and PS4.
• Jump Force. As a fighting game, the perspective is third party, giving this a very different feel. All characters share one health bar, and there are lots of new characters to play as. like Dragon Ball Z, One Piece and Naruto. It is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Kingdom Hearts III is due to be released in 2019 by Square Enix, and it is the twelfth game of the Kingdom Hearts titles. Critics are awaiting its arrival and it looks set to come out around January time, after much debate about the release and when it would actually happen. It is going to be available for PlayStation and Xbox, with a deluxe edition of the game available as well, complete with a steel book case, art book and pin.

The gameplay follows suit after previous Kingdom Hearts games, using hack and slash combat. It is billed as an action role play game, and the main character of Sora will also feature once again. There are some new character additions, mainly on a Disney theme, including Goofy, King Mickey and Donald Duck. The worlds are also largely based on Disney films, and Classic Kingdom mini-games take their inspiration from Mickey Mouse cartoons.

Divinity: Original Sin II is set to be released at the end of August. The original was released in 2017 and this new game builds upon it, similar modes and some similar characters. It was received with great critical acclaim and the second instalment looks to be an exciting addition to what is already a complex and charismatic game.

You will be able to play solo in single player mode, or play with up to three people as you begin your story. You will find it set in Rivellon, and your character will come with their own previous story and intricate detail. The game is a role-playing game and characterisation is important here, as you come across Sorcerers, Kings and the Godwoken – but who, or what, exactly, is the Godwoken? You will have to play to find out – the game will be available for purchase on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
