The last quarter of 2014 is witnessing the release of dozens of new Xbox One Games. They range in nature from action to role playing, sports and racing to skills tutoring. After a careful examination of the upcoming releases, we have featured five of the ones we consider as the most eagerly awaited games which will cause the biggest stir in the market as the year ands and the new one rolls in. 1. NBA 2K15
NBA 2K15 is the latest edition of the runaway popular basketball franchise developed by Visual Concepts and published 2K Games. Coming out in October 2014, the game will be the sixteenth instalment of the well known franchise. One of the notable features in the game is an altogether new mode known as MyLEAGUE. It draws a lot from the NBA 2K14’s MyGM mode but has some new customizations and improvements. NBA 2K15 also comes with MyLEAGUE option but the RPG elements such as conferences and conversation systems have been excluded.
2. Sleeping Dogs
The Sleeping Dogs version set for release in October 2014 is a remastered edition of the 2012 action adventure video game released first in 2012 and has been labelled the Definitive Edition. It is developed by United Front Games and published by Square Enix. The edition will include 24 Downloadable Content pieces including mission packs such as Nightmare in North Point , Wheels of Fury and Year of the Snake. More importantly, the action takes place on true high definition 1080p resolution. The entire gameplay is more realistic including more intuitive Hong Kong ambience and the audio is presented at a much higher fidelity. Sleeping Dogs; the Definitive Edition is therefore fast proving to be one of the most eagerly awaited Xbox One Games of 2015.
3. The Walking Dead: Season Two
The Walking Dead is an episodic and interactive video game developed and published by Telltale Games in collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment. The Xbox One version of the game is set for release later in 2014. Season Two follows on the events of the first season and replicates events featured in the original Robert Kirkman’s comic book series. As such, gameplay sets off on a world where a zombie apocalypse has just occurred. The action set off in Georgia but in later episodes the setting gradually moves northwards as the human survivors move towards present day Michigan where they have heard that a big survivor’s camp has been set up.
4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Zero Edition for Xbox One
Set for worldwide release in early November, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Zero Edition for Xbox One is a futuristic open warfare game by Sledgehammer Games. With its realistic depictions of scenery, features and characters, the gameplay takes place in a plausible future world where a series of events and cutting edge technological advances have inexorably led to catastrophic consequences. The advances are not just about the world in which the action takes place and the weaponry but also the soldiers themselves. Donning technologically smart and, to all intents and purposes, indefatigable exoskeletons, the player has the confidence to take on the most exacting risks confident in the invincibility of the characters whose roles they are assuming.
5. Rocksmith 2014 Xbox One
In what is by all objective measures one of the best Xbox One Games devoted to music tutoring, Ubisoft is just about to release the 2014 version of Rocksmith. The company claims that through the franchise, they have already managed to tutor well over 2 million people how to play the guitar. This new version will feature 1080p resolution as well as capture and share features which will make it possible for players to record and share performances. The standard Xbox One edition of the game ships with 50 tracks but there are more than 300 others available as DLC online.
